I just wanted to add that the "Truthseeker" isnt seeking the truth, hes seeking the truth to what he believes whats to happen. I can go anywhere on the internet these days and post something a make it true some how or another but truth IS he has repeated himself for u over and over and has had much patients with your questions. If you want the truth as I did, get off the internet go talk to a REAL person who is fli=uent with what you want to know, this will help you more that going from site to site trying to put things together tho do your own "Truthseeking" . Stop deluding and poluting with s=hype and go outside in this our beautiful world and ask a scolar, ask someone that is in the feild you have questions about. Trust me on this when I say, Its easier, more reliable and you will get better facts than internet BS that is being posted. Not to say I would argue with some of the sourses but facts are fact and twissting them to suit your argument isnt what this is about. In fact, this and 2012 hoax, if u ,you, yourself believe it to be true, build your bunker or whatever and get prepared, asking questions on here is wasting your time isnt it? If you want valadation for it just for the sake of saying ok, wrong site. I see however you know of several that do support it so ask them why they do and throw all these things at them and have them prove it wrong. I have spent the last hour or so looking at nothing but the same arguement with you getting the same answers and not accepting it.
Ask, a REAL person to sit down with you that knows and is fluent with this and I am sure you will get what you want if truth is really what you want.

Ok, I love Astrology and all that but pure unrefutible science is what this is all about. Astrology being real isnt an issue, people believing this horrid hoax and causing children and under educate people such fear is. I am a layman myself that has had this fear for many years and has studied this since 2001(out of fear) and arguing about astology is a mute point when dealing with a hoax this large and that has caused DEATHS! Astrology is great, I have the book, studied it and know but fact is it has not to do with science other than alignments.
I wouldnt take it as an insult, take it as you are enlightened an knowlegable where others may not be. Leave it at that.

Dear ironically-named "Truthseeker," seeing how I've already addressed every last one of your so-called points, I see no reason to do much other than repeat myself.

Even if everything in your list is accepted at face value (which would be foolish), your conclusion does not follow.

You do know what "does not follow" means, don't you? Seems like your original rant collapsed under its own weight, so you felt the need to rant some more in hopes that everyone would forget.

Why aren't you rich? If the list is ridiculous, you should be:
1. Shorting honey and food crops. Even though prices are skyrocketing.
2. Shorting food crops. Even though prices are skyrocketing. I guess even mainstream media doesn't even count as a source anymore. I guess you aren't even concerned with the domestic dry food shortages and dropping of domestic reserve stores and worldwide riots occurring now due to food shortages. First, reduction of food exports and then shortages at home. See Russia, China, and India governments for their buying spree on food.

3. Shorting seafood and buying fishing boats in the Gulf. Certainly you believe scientists that say the ecosystem in the Gulf has not collapsed. In fact, it is prospering. Never mind the canaries in the coal mine. Also, never mind about Corexit and oil toxicity. Certainly, it can't get into the domestic water supply. Never mind the health problems in the Gulf region. It's all in their minds.
4. Investing in the Iranian stock market and shorting oil and gas stocks. Hey, if Iran war starts, we can still count on cheap gas even though Persian gulf is controlled by the Strait of Hormuz. Hey, it isn't the Middle Ages. We don't have to worry about international affairs. I guess that OPEC embargo back in 1970s was nothing special.
5. Buying US dollars if you have any foreign currency holdings. Go ahead and plan that trip to Europe. I hear you'll be getting a good exchange rate on the Euro.
6. Purchasing US treasuries and state municipal bonds. I think California's interest rate is 6.5%! Much better than the low 0.5% at banks currently. Never mind the downgrading of US debt by Moody.

This list is so ridiculous that I won' even start to begin with.
Except for 7 is all human caused and is basically caused by politics.
And solar max happens every 11 years.

To show how ridiculous these claims are I add a few more:

My car refused to start so that is proof that 2012 will happen.
I have the flue right now so that is proof that 2012 will happen.
My grandmother died so that is proof that 2012 will happen.
I got a zero tax refund back so that means that 2012 will happen.

You are trying to put science facts in the 2012 hoax, when you can't. A Honeybee collapse is a real problem, but nobody know how and when this will happen, and if this happen. The bees are very important, but I think that for several years, nothing will happen.

Some country will have a food shortage in 2010-2011. Like every year some had, and like every year some will have.

We are not in the middle age anymore. Today, the world is more civilizated. Well, at least the big part of the countries are. Let see the possible reasons:
-Water - we are civilizated enough to stop the high water consume. And have wisdom enough to know that the end of the water isn't easy.
-Food - why we can't control it? Why we can't just invent other kind of food?
-Weather - I will not bet it.

With some exceptions, Christians aren't predicting a 2012 doomsday. Ergo, this site has nothing to do with Christianity's expected rapture, second coming, tribulation, Armageddon or what have you.

This is what fiat currencies do. Always have, always will.

Not unusual and not unexpected, especially when governments take on the nanny role we see today.

A combination of media hysteria and old information. The current forecast states that the upcoming maximum "will be below average in intensity, with a maximum sunspot number of 90." It is predicted for the spring of 2013. You are aware that solar maximum happens regularly, every 11 years on average, yes?

The "proton machine" was CERN. Yeah, there's been quite a bit of that here, from people asking simple questions to morons making doomsday claims.

The Y2K bug was real, but IT professionals addressed the problem over the preceding years and made sure it wasn't a big deal.

The lies will probably never stop. Every time a claim fails, doomsayers just latch onto another date and start over. You might be interested in "A Brief History of the Apocalypse."

I used to believe all of this hype a while back when the 2008 proton machine was invited, and how everybody said it was going to create a "blackhole". I don't see a blackhole! Also, my dad said that in 2000, their was a lot of hype about computers failing and technology taking over the world. I'm using my computer just fine! There have been numerous predictions of "The of the world", but I'm still alive! When are these lies going to die down??

Again where are your evidence that supports the above events happening in 2012?

Number 1 is discussed, and I think we have the same conclusion. However, scientists state that it is not likely to happen due to the resent sun activities.

Number 2 is too vague, major earthquakes happen every year. People do survive and some people die. It's normal, especially with the increasing population in high risk areas. Again, if you are saying that a some what more destructive earthquake would happen in 2012, where is your prove? To my understanding, even the most high-tech equipment and professional geologists why devote their lives in earthquake studies can't predict exactly when an earthquake occurs. What makes you think you can? Or any of the sites where you obtained your sources from?

Number 3 happens, but not in 2012. NASA has not spotted anything that can even come close to affect us in the near future, or couple of hundred years. Back in 2003, they did discover an asteroid which was calculated to make contact with earth in 2036. But that calculation was redone after more data became available. And guess what? It's not coming to hit us. (Even if it is, not in 2012).

Number 4 is possible, but not likely in 2012. Who's going to start the fighting? What makes you think it's a world war? Do you have any prove that this is going to happen? Or should I say, can you predict the future?

Number 5 sounds scary, maybe, but your statement is too vague. I have no knowledge of methane fountains. What makes you think the odds are going up? And what are the odds if they go up? Please don't just make wild claims, support them.

Number 6 sounds scary, possibly, any scientists agree with you? Or you are making claims again? And what does this have to do with 2012? Can you predict that it will happen in 2012? not 2011 or 2013?

Yes I agree with you that credibility is determined solely by the source and the amount of people that agree with it. Just because you and a couple of scientist agree on the issue, doesn't make it credible.

Credibility is determined solely by the source and not the blog that cites it. I guess you have to probably disbelieve every single
piece of news that comes from the internet. Everything on
the internet is a blog. The correct stance is to examine the source and determine the cited articles in the source for credibility. I would seriously distrust the wiki. It cites articles, but it does not indicate the validity of any of the articles.

Doomsday seems to be your nemesis. Your beliefs need to be re-examined because they cause you so much anguish. Every
single statement I make says that humanity can survive with the right preparation. Your statements suggest otherwise. What are the possible doomsday scenarios that I believe can happen?
1. Solar flare shuts down the power grid. People have to survive without power for several weeks.
2. Major earthquakes happen. People have to survive without government assistance for several weeks.
3. Asteroid strike happens. People have to survive in a bunker as well as survive the impending nuclear winter.
4. World War 3. Same as #3.
5. Methane fountains cause a firestorm. Anything in the open will be incinerated. Same as #3. Odds are increasing with the oil and methane leak.
6. Tsunami off the Gulf Coast. Odds are increasing with the seafloor around the pipe leaking oil. What does happen when
the oil empties and a big cavernous space no longer has any support? See Sumatra tsunami for historical example of the
seafloor collapsing.
