I haven't read his books, so I don't know where he gets his "theories". He isn't a scientist and "At no point does Flynn tell us what he studied in college, how he conducts his research, or where his research is published (other than his books)." His "theories" have been discredited by scientists, including Phil Plait. Anyone can come up with a half-baked idea and write a book about it, but that doesn't make it true. The fact that he has no scientific background certainly doesn't give him any credibility. You should base your conclusions about scientific matters on the work of people who know something about science instead of any scientifically illiterate screwball who dreams something up and writes a book.
You should read someones work before destroying it. A large part of Flynns work is concrete and undeniable,of course you would actually have to read it to know that. I have read this book right through once, and am now going through it again with a fine-toothed comb.
It contains some very interesting, verifiable facts, some rather hazy conjecture and some errors. However my advice is,

Before I accept this claim, you will have to provide evidence that "Noah's flood" was a real, global event, and that the solar year was 360 days before this event, and that it changed to a 365.25 day solar year after this event.

No, that is culturally dependent. The ancient Babylonian calendar, for example had 3 7-day weeks followed by a 9- or 10-day week to align with the lunar cycle. As shown on our mayan-calendar page, the Maya used a combination of 13-day and 20-day "weeks" and the Assyrians used a 5-day week.

Again, this is culturally dependent. In the western system, there are 7 primary notes, and 5 minor notes, for a total of 12. The seven primary notes are not equidistant in terms of frequency either. The difference between A and B (a whole step) is double that of C and D (a half-step). There are different scales that have been used, and some very odd-sounding ones (to our western ears) in Asia.

Einstein's ideas were accepted because his theories accounted for the 'holes' in Maxwell's theories, and did so much better than Lorentz. His theories made testable predictions which were experimentally confirmed. That is the standard in science… not degrees or credentials, or 'groupthink'. Sure, there are exceptions… some of them based on personality (the rejection of J. Harlan Bretz's ideas by the Geological Society of America under the directorship of then-president Alden) and some political (the state-sponsored acceptance of Lysenko's ideas about biology by the Soviet Union).
Flynn's ideas are rejected because he fails to support them with evidence.

He David Flynn does not say the world will end nor did he imply that, read the book and see for yourself what he was saying and doing in writing this book. He wrote about Newton and what Newton thought and then wrote his theory.
And if you have not heard, David passed away on Jan.22 2012. we have lost a great thinker and researcher and writer even if you do not agree with him. He was a great and professional person who thought on his own which is hard to find today. He gave us a gift to make us want to learn and think and research.
